There are several locations where flights take off so, no matter where you’re staying on the island, you can get to a heliport for some high-flying fun. Oahu tours depart from Honolulu/Waikiki, Turtle Bay Resort, and Ko Olina. Different packages depart from each location so be sure to note the departure point when booking!

Can you fly over a volcano on an Oahu helicopter tour?

Oahu is not home to any active volcanoes so while you may have amazing views of famous sights such as Pearl Harbor, Diamond Head, the Sacred Falls, and Ka’a’awa (Jurassic) Valley, you will not see any active volcano.

What do you wear on an Oahu helicopter tour?

You don’t need to buy any special clothing or shoes to enjoy a Big Island helicopter ride. We do, though, recommend that you wear dark clothing. All of that beautiful Hawaiian sun can cause bright clothing to reflect in windows and could ruin your epic shot. If you choose a doors off flight, we also recommend long sleeves and layers as the rushing wind can have a chill high in the air.
